Hannah and her sister were beloved playmates of my children while growing up in Michigan. Our families enjoyed many outings and adventures together, and Hannah and Heidi joined my kids for numerous playdates and summer camps. We will always treasure Hannah and our wonderful memories of the delightful sweet person we were so fortunate to know. We will always remember her amazing strength of character and beautiful gentleness of spirit, her delightful smile, soft merry laugh and joyful twinkling eyes. We so enjoyed her playful humor, fun-loving nature, kindness and affection, especially towards animals and children. Hannah was very engaging and always eager to understand and connect with the world around her. She had and is an enduring and beautiful spirit who brought great joy and beauty into the world. We are so grateful to have been blessed with having Hannah in our lives. She will live on forever in our hearts.

I met Hannah when I was 10 and she came home from the hospital. I already adored her big sister and was SO excited to have another baby in the neighborhood to befriend. It was especially special to me that Heidi was born May 20, my birthday was May 23, and Hannah was born May 26. She was a precious and delightful baby who grew into the sweetest, most caring little girl. At age 4 Hannah taught me what she was learning during her violin lessons so I could learn to play, too. She has been an inspiration from that time on. I remember many days playing dress up, watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Willy Wonka, snuggling up to read books, and so much more. I cherish every memory I have with Hannah and am thankful for the love she shared with me. My heart aches when I think of Hannah's pain and I know it will be a long journey processing this grief. Her life continues to be an inspiration; I'm reminded to take the time to let someone know when I think of them, be open about my own struggles in hopes that others feel less alone, and to encourage prioritization of mental health within my community and where I have influence. Hannah's death still feels completely unfathomable to me. And then I'm reminded that the unfathomable happens and to be grateful for every moment with every loved one. Hannah is so very loved and missed.

I think of Hannah often and remember her as a sweet, beautiful and fun-loving girl. I wish she knew how much she would be missed and how bright her future was. I wish we could rewrite this story. Happy 23rd birthday to beautiful Hannah in heaven!!

I met Hannah in my senior year of high school. I remember noticing there was a new girl in two of my classes. I remember sitting on the opposite side of the room from one another. One day, in our human bio class, we had to do partner work. Without saying anything Hannah and I both looked at one another, we had never spoken to each other before. I remember the assignment we had to work on. We had to blow up a balloon and measure it in some way. I remember Hannah and I laughing so hard, because I was struggling to blow up the balloon. We had never met before, but it felt like I had known her for a while. We then got on the topic of horses, and she was so excited to hear that I had a horse. From then on, we spent countless afternoons riding my horse, Merrie. Riding double down the road, going on countless rides together. We even bought a pizza and went on a sunset trail ride, and had a picnic with Merrie. A memory I will never forget. We grew very close in the short time we met one another. When her car broke, I would drive her home from school for what seemed like weeks and weeks, but I didn't mind. She gave me a safety device, to keep me safe. I kept that in my truck for 6 years, and when I got my new truck I immediately put it in the new one. That is the one material thing I have left of Hannah. Now all I have our messages that have been saved between us, and multiple pictures in my room. Hannah was there for me when no one else was, and I will never forget that. I just wish I was there for her. I miss you Hannah, not a day goes by that I do not think of you. I know I will see you again someday, and that you're not in pain anymore. Rest well, my special angel.

I remember our beautiful Hannah as a young girl. She was a precious family member and a cusin to my children Blair and Dylan . I remember them staying in our house for a visit. Both girls very well mannered, polite and pleasure to be around. After the Allen family moved away I did not see her much. Just FB pictures and posting. Never expected to get such a devastating news of her passing. Mental health is real. Depression is real. May our Hannah find piece in God arms.

Some people are in our lives for a short time-a season- but the impact is great. Hannah was one of those people She was the little girl next door, the cute little sister my daughter didn't have- the little girl who made Michael cheer her on in gymnastics! She was the brave girl who loved to tube and swim at our cottage! The impact she made on our family was so great. We didn't understand her suffering and for those left behind we are so incredibly sorry we didn't know your pain was so deep. We wish you would have known that life would get better! hey hannah 🙂 it’s still hard to think about you like you aren’t here -it’s almost easier for me to talk to you in my head like I’m talking to you in the present. Healing has not been linear by any means. I think about you all the time, it seems like every day I do something you would have had something funny to say about. It’s not often you have someone in your life you can be your completely weird self around, and I know we both had that in each other. Lucky to have known you all your years. Love you. Miss you. Tons.

Hannah was one of the sweetest little girls ever. To our family- a beautiful baby, a delightful neighbor, a respected classmate, a violin inspiration, a dear friend. Her healing is accomplished; her life continues to inspire. Our healing journey goes on. We grieve but not as without hope. She sees Jesus face to face , we through a glass dimly… Praying we live with grace toward others and full of faith.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 I saw the verse above on my way home from the airport … Today I have been reflecting on how peoples outward appearance is such an inaccurate reflection of their inner feelings and struggles. How my inner struggles are shared with very few people - and some with no one at all. How inaccurate our perception and knowledge of people really are. I really don’t know what to do about that, because even caring and loving doesn’t change how burdened or loved a person feels or what they ultimately decide to do. Our internal lives can be such a private and lonely battle. Today I also think about not caring so much about impressions and what people think, and caring more about what I think and how I feel - being authentic and true to myself and moving forward in this world in a way that leaves me with less regret. Being ok with good enough so I can be more present and have time to care and love and enjoy others and life. Love you Hannah! Miss you Hannah! Still can’t believe you’re not here….
